On Monday, 12th November 2018 we had the fabulous opportunity to interview Sofía, an exchange student from Colombia.

Sofía studies in Germany for five months.

Our students worked in teams on formulating questions, which they wanted to ask her.

About Sofía

What’s your family name?

When’s your birthday?

My birthday is November, 23rd.

Do you live in a city or in a town?

I live in a city.

Do you live in a house or in a flat?

I live in a house.

How many rooms are there in your house?

There are five rooms.

What do you do in your free time?

I go out with my friends, I listen to music and I watch ‘Netflix’.

What’s your favourite hobby?

I like volleyball and basketball.

What’s your favourite food?

I like sushi.

What’s your favourite music?

My favourite music is English pop.

Do you know a German band?

No, I don´t.

What pets do you like?

I like turtles.

Do you have a pet?

No, but I had 2 dogs and one turtle.

Their names were Magnolia and Trufa.

What´s your best friend’s name?

My best friend’s name is Fernando.

Do you miss your friends in Colombia?

Yes, I miss my friends in Colombia.

Did you find new friends in your new class at your German school?

Yes, I found new friends at the new school.

About her family

Do you have a big or a small family?

I have a big family.

Are your parents married?

They were married.

Do you have a brother or a sister?

I haven’t got a brother or sister.

How do you live in Columbia?

The same like in Germany.

Are your supermarkets as big as ‘Kaufland’?

Yes, they are.

Do you have beautiful beaches in Colombia?

Yes, we have.

Do you have a beach near your home?

I don’t have a beach near my home.

How many degrees are there in Colombia in summer?

In summer we have about 20 degrees.

What’s the name of the highest mountain in Colombia?

It`s the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

What kind of government do you have in Colombia?

Democracy.

Is Colombia a rich country?

No.

Are you rich?

Normal.

What is the biggest sport in Colombia?

It’s football.

How is the school in Colombia?

It`s the same as in Germany.

Do you wear a uniform at your school?

Yes, I wear a uniform at my school.

Is your school modern?

Yes, my school is modern.

Do you like your classmates?

Yes, I like my class mates.

How are your teachers?

They are really nice and cool.

What’s your favourite teacher’s name and what subject does he or she teach?

My favourite teacher is C. She teaches Biology and Mrs B. teaches History.

When does your school day start?

My school day starts at 7.30 am.

When does your school day end in Colombia?

The school ends at 4 or 5 pm.

Why do you go to H.R. and not to another school here?

About Germany

How do you like Germany?

It’s very beautiful.

How do you like Germans?

They are very nice.

How do you like our school rules?

They are all right and the same as in Colombia. But we have uniforms.

How do you like the weather here in Germany?

I don’t like the weather. It’s too cold.

How do you like the German food?

I love it, it’s very tasty.

What´s your favourite food here?

I can´t choose a German favourite food yet.

 

About her host family

Do you live in a big house or flat here in Germany?

I live in a rather small house.

How is your host family?

The family is really nice.

Do you have fun in Germany?

Yes, I have fun.

What do you do in your free time?

I do athletics and I play volleyball.

Do you have pets in your host family?

No, I don´t have pets in my host family.
